Job Listings, Market Intelligence and What it can tell you about your competition

The UK’s leading provider of Employment Market Intelligence, Innovantage (www.innovantage.co.uk) announce strategic content distribution partnership with Site Advisor Ltd an online recruitment publisher who’s properties include JobSiteAdisor (www.jobsiteadvisor.com), CareerSiteAdvisor (www.careersiteadvisor.com) and two weekly newsletters Recruitment Media Monday and The Buzz (distributed to 23,000 HR, Recruiting, Job Board and Advertising Agency professionals).

The agreement will see Innovantge provide exclusive monthly market intelligence on the UK Online Recruitment Market distributed  via their B2B online property JobSiteAdvisor. The reports will cover:

·         Job postings – by volume, type, source, region

·         Top job titles advertised

·         Top ten advertsers – by advertiser type

Matthew Dewstowe Founder and Managing Director of Innovantage comment’s “we have been providing information to the Staffing and Media sector for three years” but we have always wanted to provide market intelligence that is of a “more strategic nature”. Analysing a company’s job postings can help understand what a company’s strategic objective are.

Site Advisor’s co-founder Keith Robinson agrees with Matthews vision and comments “Hiring patterns can give you real insight into the state of an economy, trends, and also what companies might be planning”.  He cites the following case study involving Google and Yahoo.

The report highlighted that Google’s 2009 job postings was down 54 percent from last year, but those listed are focused entirely on display ads including advertisements for YouTube, Google Content Network, Exchange and TV.

“Yahoo’s posting’s  on the other hand were down 47 percent from last year but show a focus on hiring “video”  people for content creation and editorial. That makes sense, now that the company has given up search and is embracing its role as a media company. Good news: The company is still hiring aggressively for R&D. Nearly 59 percent of all job openings in the company are in R&D vs. 74 percent last year.

Now given recent announcements from Yahoo about moving heavily into spots highlights redistribution, these hiring patterns make sense.”

Dewstowe says in teaming up with SiteAdvisor “we bring in two industry veterans who understand and appreciate the power of the data, and with our monthly market summary provide a valuable platform to “educate our audience” on the true potential of the data”.
