Firstly an apology- I'm conscious that sometimes my "spelling and grammar" can at times to say the least be frustrating... but I feel that in my last edition I overstepped the mark.
I would love to come up with some "plausible" excuses but I can't - in fact it was the result of a rather good lunch with a group of French media owners and bloggers in Bordeaux... followed by the realization that I had a deadline.
My commitment in taking these newsletters to the "next level" is to get myself a copy writer/sub editor on board.
For those of you who dropped me a line to say how much they enjoyed the "French and Dutch" articles - cheers - it seems that the vendors found these insights useful.
I've been hugely lucky over the last 10 years to travel extensively and speak at my conferences, one of my passions has been "the creation of a truly globalised workforce". One of my themes was for organisations to "plan global and act local".
To adopt that approach you need to understand and emerge yourself in the culture and community in which you intend to hire.
One reason I will often run my "international blogs lists" in local languages is NOT my own language skills!! But because seeing content in the local language, context and situation is part of the "understanding". BUT yes I then use my translation modules.
I will be reaching out to my own network to get more information on more markets and aim to have 4 more specials out during in October - looking at Spain, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany. If any of you have your own contacts or live or work in one of these counties please let me know and I'm happy to take any relevant information on these markets.. BUT no PR puff.
