Nice to see some of my blogging community pals wishing their American friends a "great Independence Day" for me as a Francophile the 14th July is the next "celebration" of an insurrection. It is odd that we Brits had our revolution first and yet no celebration....we even chopped a Kings head off first!!
I suspect this is something about British "reserve" or "embarrassment" and in it's own way our recruitment industry is similar we seem to always look elsewhere (often the US) for inspiration or authority and yet after 30 years in this industry I think we have so much to celebrate and applaud ourselves for.
So I am interested to hear about how "we" could celebrate "best in recruitment"? we have awards to "reward" creativity, awards to define excellence amongst Job Boards, awards to identify "great recruiters etc etc...maybe we should have just one site Best of British Recruitment...we are a multi billion pound success story...lets sell it.
OR am I being an xenophobic old fart
